Staffing Structure

Nursery Manager – Kayleigh Henderson

Kayleigh has worked at Hyde n Seek for over 3 years now and has worked across a few different branches, she became branch manager in December 2017 after working as the nursery Depute, she is undertaking her PDA Level 9 award in Childhood Practice at Langside College.

Senior Practitioner – Amy McDade

Amy has worked at Hyde n Seek since 2014 and have completed my training within Hyde n Seek. I achieved an SVQ Level 3 in Children’s care learning and Development with Carousel Training Centre and was promoted to senior in November 2017.

Qualified Practitioner – Nicola Gennett

Nicola has worked at the nursery since 2015 and has an HNC in Childcare and Education which she achieved through Langside College.

 

Qualified Practitioner – Dione Moran

Dione completed her training at our Kinning park branch and moved here as a qualified member of staff in May 2017. Dione completed her SVQ Level 3 in Social Services Children and Young People through Carousel Training Centre.

 

Qualified Practitioner – Caitlin Lamb

Caitlin completed her training and started here as a qualified member of staff in May 2018.  Caitlin completed her SVQ Level 3 in Social Services Children and Young People through Carousel Training Centre.

 

Trainee Practitioner – Fauzia Ashfaq

Fauzia has just begun her journey starting with the company in March 2018. Fauzia will be completing her training with Carousel training centre and hopes to achieve the SVQ Level 3 in Social Services Children and Young People.

Qualified PractitionerElizabeth Comiskey

Elizabeth has worked at Hyde n Seek for over 11 years and completed her training with the company. She has worked at our Kinning Park branch and returned to Mount Florida in 2009.

 

Qualified Practitioner Louise Costello

Louise has worked at Hyde n Seek now for over 4 years. She has an HNC In Childcare and Education and completed her SVQ Level 4 in Social Services Children and Young People in 2017. Louise has recently moved to the 2-3 and is enjoying the new challenge.

 

Qualified Practitioner – Caitlin Hodge

Caitlin has recently qualified and secured herself a qualified position within the nursery. Caitlin is enjoying her new role and the new responsibilities it brings.

3-5 Room

Senior Practitioner/Nursery Depute – Paul Cairns

Paul has recently joined the Hyde n Seek team from West Lothian council. Paul is joining the 3-5 room to support curriculum developments.

 

Qualified PractitionerSelina Milligan

Selina has worked in the nursery for over 11 years. She has worked in all rooms and is enjoying the challenge of the preschool at the moment. Selina is passionate about seeing the children grow from babies to young people.

 

Qualified Practitioner Megan Oliver

Megan has completed her qualification with the company and is currently working in the preschool room. Megan is half Spanish and enjoys sharing this with the children and teaching them new words.

 

Qualified PractitionerJillian Henderson

Jillian has worked at our Redan street branch and took on her new role at Mount Florida in November 2017. Jillian achieved an SVQ Level 3 Children’s care Learning and Development while working in the Redan street branch and is enjoying her role in the preschool room.

Qualifications

Our staff team have a wide range of experiences and qualifications, ranging from SVQ level 2,3, and 4 to NC and HNC to BA childhood studies. We have staff of all ages with different backgrounds.

Recruitment

Our staff team are subject to rigorous recruitment processes. Every member of staff must have two references, a medical check proof of identity and proof of qualifications and be subject to an enhanced disclosure. Staff are also required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) This is a new regulatory body which means staff are more closely regulated for example anyone who is subject to disciplinary procedures must be reported as this would not be shown on a disclosure and could result in the employee being taken off the register and thus unable to be employed as employers would be committing an offence employing anyone not registered. Staff are also required to further their own professional development through various training courses.

Training

Staff regularly participate in training to update their knowledge and skills or to learn new ones. Hyde n Seek organises training according to individual staff needs, however there are certain training staff take part in annually such as first aid, food hygiene, child protection, infection control, oral hygiene and breast feeding friendly nursery training. Staff also participate in training such as Active Learning Active Thinking, Various curriculum training, providing an enriching environment for under 3s, supporting language and literacy, fire safety, risk assessments, and many more.
