What we are doing
Over recent months, our nursery community has been actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences that support children’s development, wellbeing, and sense of belonging. Through a range of carefully planned activities, we continue to provide a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is valued and supported to thrive.
Children have enjoyed exploring the local community, taking part in cultural celebrations, and learning about fairness and global responsibility through our Fairtrade Open Morning. These experiences help children develop confidence, respect for others, and an early understanding of the world around them. With the valued support of our families, children have also had opportunities to learn new languages, promoting inclusion and strengthening communication skills while celebrating the diversity within our nursery.
Alongside children’s learning, staff have been committed to enhancing their professional practice. Team members have attended Makaton training, outdoor learning training, and a range of additional professional development opportunities. Many staff are also further developing their qualifications, reflecting their dedication to continuous improvement and high-quality care.
Partnership with parents and carers remains at the heart of our nursery. We work closely with families to share children’s achievements, celebrate cultural events, and support learning both at home and in the nursery. With the support and valuable feedback of our families, we have recently reviewed and updated our nursery aims and values. This collaborative process has ensured that our ethos truly reflects the voices of our children, families, and staff, and reinforces our commitment to inclusion, respect, fairness, and children’s rights.
We are proud to uphold children’s rights by ensuring every child feels safe, listened to, and respected. By encouraging children to make choices, express their views, and participate in their learning, we support them to grow into confident, curious, and caring individuals. Through strong partnerships, reflective practice, and a shared vision, we continue to provide the best possible start for every child.
