Facilities & Rooms
We have 4 rooms within our nursery; One 0-2 rooms, a 2-3 room and 3-5 room.
0-2 department holds 12 children.
2-3 room holds 10 children.
3-5 room holds 21 children.
The ratios for the above rooms are as follows:
0-2 room – 1 adult to 3 children
2-3 room – 1 adult to 5 children
3-5 room – 1 adult to 8 children
We have a garden to the side of the nursery that we are able to use daily which helps children’s physical development. We also have a growing garden to the front of the nursery where we challenge the children to grow herbs, fruits and vegetables. The children have made their own greenhouse to cater for some plants too.
We provide all children with daily activities that will develop and enhance their learning at a pace that suits themselves.
We visit the local library, healthy living centre and our local care home every month to make links with the community.
Our nursery cook prepares all our delicious meals from scratch. There is no salt or sugar added to any meals or snacks made and our menus are designed to provide a healthy, balanced diet. Fruit is available at every eating opportunity and the choices of drinks are water or milk.
Tooth brushing is a very important part of the day for the children so we will incorporate this into your child’s day at nursery wither they attend part time or full time. All materials will be provided for this so you needn’t worry.
We have a dance teacher – Jacqui – who does routines and movement class once a week with the 2-3 and 3-5 children which is on a Wednesday morning.
Aileen from CHIME attends the nursery on a Friday monring and the children can participate in music, dance and role play through expressive arts.
